The theme of our second annual "Medical Tourism in Turkey” event is “Model Partnership in Healthcare: United Stated and Turkey", and it will be held on March 12-13, 2010 at downtown Marriott Hotel. The event is organized by the Turkish American Chamber of Commerce & Industry – Midwest with the support from the Turkish Ministry of Tourism and Culture, the Turkish Ministry of Health, the Cook County of Illinois, the Turkish Accredited Hospitals Association, the Foreign Economic Relations Board Healthcare Committee (DEIK/TAIK), Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management, GE Healthcare International, Turkish Airlines Inc., and the Turkish American Doctors Association of Midwest (TADAM).
The two day event will start at 8:00 AM on Friday with registration and opening of exhibits, followed by conference sessions, coffee breaks and networking opportunities between 9:00am– 6:00pm both on Friday, March 12th. and Saturday, March 13th. A Continuing Medical Education Program for physicians with a maximum of 4-hour Category (1) credit will be administered in partnership with the Association of Physicians of Pakistani-decent of North America (APPNA) during Session III on March 12th and Sessions I, III, and IV on March 13th. A Classical Turkish Music program will accompany the lunch breaks between 1:00-2:00 pm on both days. The conference will adjourn at 4:00 PM on Saturday, and the evening will continue with TADAM Medical Ball reception and dinner between 6:30 PM - 1:00AM.
The main purpose of our Chicago event is to give the current facts, figures and information on global healthcare and Medical Tourism industry, and introduce Turkey as a healthcare partner and an alternative Medical Tourism destination where top quality affordable care can be combined with holiday options. We will present the partnership opportunities and solutions Turkey's healthcare industry offers in light of current healthcare crisis in the U.S. and globalization trends in the world. Besides the informative sessions, the conference attendees will have the opportunity to network and to visit participating exhibitors on both days.
This is our second conference in the US introducing and promoting Turkey as a healthcare partner and an alternative Medical Tourism destination. Turkish Airlines Inc. is the main sponsor of the event, and with their support, TACCI-Midwest is bringing together expert panelists , government and health industry representatives both from Turkey and the US. Our distinguished speakers and panelists will inform the conference attendees about the recent trends and globalization in healthcare industry ; model partnership opportunities between the two countries; current medical tourism trends and practices; insurance, legal and marketing aspects of medical tourism industry; joint education and investment opportunities Turkey offers; and current information about the accredited, highest-quality healthcare facilities, services, and teaching hospitals in Turkey. The exhibit hall will be open both days showcasing information about Turkey and its participating hospitals, facilitators, medical and tourism industry participants.
Among the guests expected to attend the event are the representatives from the Turkish Government's Health Ministry, Culture & Tourism Ministry, Trade & Industry Ministry, the Cook County of Illinois, the Turkish Healthcare Tourism Development Council, the Turkish American Tourism Council, the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board Healthcare Committee (DEIK/TAIK), the representatives, doctors, and directors of AHAT members, US health management, medical tourism, and insurance companies, hospitals, employer groups, and HR divisions of major Midwest companies.
